Books That Healed Me: Wisdom That Became a Lifeline

Books That Healed Me: Wisdom That Became a Lifeline

I’ve always been a reader. Looking back, maybe part of the reason why I was such a bookworm was because books were my only safe space.

When the world I grew up in felt chaotic, unsafe, or senseless, books gave me perspective and insight that I couldn’t find around me. They became companions through childhood, grief, illness, and healing. They taught me that there were other ways to live, to think, to be .. even when my immediate world told me otherwise.

One fun fact? I once owned so many books I could fill up an entire room 🤭. That little library was my sanctuary. But when I had to move out and start over, I couldn’t bring them all with me. Leaving them behind was heartbreaking.

That’s when I bought my Kindle in 2020. At a time when I was renting and constantly moving, it became my anchor, a portable library that traveled with me through every transition. It wasn’t just about convenience. It was about knowing that wisdom, comfort, and guidance were always a page away, no matter where I was.

Many people know me now for the spiritual work I do with Crysto.light: crystals, tarot, astrology. What they might not realise is that these practices were shaped and deepened by the self-help and spiritual books that healed me along the way.

These weren’t just books to me. They were lifelines. They gave me language for my pain, frameworks for resilience, and courage to live differently. They helped me piece myself back together when I felt broken, and they gave me the vision for the work I share today.

That’s why I’m creating this series: Books That Healed Me. A collection of titles that didn’t just sit on my shelf, but reshaped the way I see life, love, and healing. :)

🌸 Why Fiction Matters

Self-help gave me tools. Fiction gave me empathy.

I write about these novels not to summarise them, but to share the truths they uncovered in me.. truths about compassion, justice, grief, healing, and love.

Because not everyone is a reader. And maybe you’ll never pick up these books. But if I can pass on the lessons hidden in their pages, then the stories have already done their work.
