I chanced upon an open application to participate in SGMS and was very hesitant as I did not have any pop up experience, I was a one-man show and was just afraid of stepping out of my comfort zone. Thinking back, the fear of no one buying what I sell was one of my biggest concerns. Look at me, already telling myself I would fail even before I even try 🤭
But there was this thought inside my head that told me "Nothing changes if the choices you make don't change" :)
I honestly wouldn't have had such a successful 1st pop up experience back then if it wasn't for my bestie's help. I actually took the entire booth and she just offered to be my assistant for the day, and in her own way, provided me with the support I really needed. (I will never forget this & I am forever grateful) 🥹
After three years of being behind the screen, it was incredibly rewarding to meet my customers in person at the pop-up event. I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and support shown by everyone. I managed to sell at least half of the stock I brought that day. It's a moment I'll cherish forever.
After the amazing response I got from my 1st pop up experience, we decided to share a booth going forward and this is where we are at now 🥹❤️
Here's to more instances of taking some level of risks, stepping out of ones' comfort zone and embracing the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
The path is extremely challenging and it can often feel very isolating. But it has rewarded me so richly in terms of the invaluable experiences and lessons that only entrepreneurship can offer me.
I have no safety net here to fall back on, it's a do or die because I know it very deeply in my soul that I am meant to be on this path.
I wake up everyday with an unexplainable zest and spark in me to bring my vision to life.
Despite the countless fails more than wins in this journey thus far, I will still have it no other way.
